I have always been and always will be a storyteller. Since childhood, I have dreamed of becoming an author. Now, as I see my stories in print, my dream has become my reality.

Since I was eight years old, mysteries have been my passion, especially murder mysteries. So much so, that after working as a nurse for twenty years, I became a Private Investigator. I worked in close contact with police officers and detectives on several closed-case files with amazing results.

I currently reside in North Carolina with my husband. I have two children, five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. I am working on my next novel on the Jolene Series.

Murder of Innocence is a delightful mystery with elements of humor and drama thrown in. Jolene Johnson is a woman with law enforcement in her DNA and while she possesses some of her father's attributes, her detective skills are unsurpassed. Despite her unquestioned ability, she remains modest. While she is in a relationship with Agent Bley, she is close to the older Agent Haines. While the three travel into parts unknown, their esprit des corps is refreshing and genuine. The small town with dark secrets is often seen in mysteries, but author laura Burke takes this theme in a completely new direction. The danger is in the air but not seen until the last moment thus rendering it more authentic. This story has a strong protagonist and a mystery at its core that will appeal to any fan of the genre. Murder of Innocence presents characters with weaknesses that make them compelling and intimate worlds that are detailed and fascinating.
